Our Story and the People
Behind TeacherMatic

Why We Created TeacherMatic

As educators ourselves, we understand the daily pressures teachers face. Planning lessons, creating resources, assessing work and providing meaningful feedback all demand significant time and energy, often well beyond the classroom itself.

In fact, employee morale remains under significant pressure with 76% of education staff reporting feeling stressed, while overall wellbeing remains among the lowest recorded since 2019.

We created TeacherMatic because we knew there had to be a better way.

AI held great potential, but we believed education needed something built with far greater care and understanding.

TeacherMatic was created to meet that need.

Our aim has never been to replace educators or automate professional expertise. It has always been to give educators tools that save time, strengthen confidence and create more space for the work that matters most.

We believe that when educators are better supported, both teaching and learning benefit.

What Makes TeacherMatic Different

TeacherMatic is built on educational expertise and shaped by the people it serves.

During development, more than 300 educators actively contributed feedback, helping refine and shape a platform grounded in the realities of educational work.

Unlike generic AI tools, TeacherMatic removes the need for complex prompting through structured generators designed specifically for education. These combine contextual expertise with practical methodologies, making it easier for educators to create high-quality outputs with confidence.

TeacherMatic is designed to help education professionals use AI safely and effectively, while keeping professional judgement firmly in human hands. User content and data remain protected and are not used to train external large language models.

As part of Avallain, TeacherMatic benefits from deep educational expertise, trusted digital learning solutions and a long-standing commitment to improving learning through technology. This includes Avallain Intelligence, Avallain’s framework for the responsible use of AI in education, enabling education professionals to adopt AI safely and ethically through TeacherMatic.

The Principles Behind TeacherMatic

Human First: Technology should strengthen human expertise, not replace it. TeacherMatic is designed to keep educators firmly in control, using AI to support professional judgement rather than replace it.
Education First: Everything we create begins with the realities of teaching, learning and educational leadership, not technology trends or industry hype.
Responsible Innovation: AI in education must be safe, transparent and thoughtfully applied. Responsible adoption remains central to how TeacherMatic is developed and used.
Practical Impact: Technology should reduce pressure, not create more complexity. TeacherMatic focuses on solving real educational challenges in ways that save time and support better outcomes.
Better Balance: Reducing unnecessary workload creates more space for the work that matters most and supports healthier, more sustainable ways of working.
User-Centred Design: TeacherMatic is designed to make AI easy to use, with an optimised experience and pre-structured tools that reduce reliance on prompt engineering.
